Academic and Disciplinary Policies

Dr. Ziauddin Intermediate College is an educational institution that not only is promising |Academic excellence but also looking after and ensuring moral and ethical development of Students .Therefore this institution requires all those admitted here to follow the Code of Ethics which will train the students in behaving with responsibility and dignity.

Punctuality

Students are required to come to college before 8:00 am wearing their college Identity cards. No students would be allowed college entry after 8:00 am without college ID card.

Three late comings will result in deduction of 10 marks from secured examination results.

Uniform

Students are required to appear in student’s college uniform neat and tidy.

Assigned uniform for boys means uniform sky blue shirt, dark grey dress trouser, uniform tie, black polished shoes and black belt, with proper hair cut and trimmed facial hair.

Assigned uniform for girls means uniform sky blue shirt, white shalwar, white dupatta and black polished shoes. No cloaks, makeup and fashion accessories allowed in college premises.

In winter season uniform sweater or coat will be applicable to boys and girls. Any jacket, jersey or upper other than uniform is not acceptable.

Students failing to comply with the assigned uniform will be sent back to home, with notification to parents.

Decorum

Students are required to follow and maintain the Educational Institute’s decorum by following rules and regulations assigned to them.

Attendance

85% attendance in college and each subject are mandatory to be eligible to appear for final intermediate board examinations. Failing to comply this will result in containing student in the existing level.

Leave Rules

  • Student must give information in written before availing day off.
  • In case of emergency day off, the student has to present to college with written application stating reasons otherwise he/she will not be allowed to attend the college.
  • Absence of students without genuine reason and written information is disregarded and if practiced for more than three times will make the student liable for Disciplinary action.

Rules and Regulations for Students

In order to facilitate the student and maintain the highest standards of academics, it is being implemented that Rules and Regulations of Dr Ziauddin Intermediate College are to be observed by students and their guardians.​

  • Punctuality and regularity is mandatory.
  • Absence of students without genuine reason and written information is disregarded and 5 marks will be deducted from total secured marks in examinations for each incidence.
  • Academic performance of student is monitored through attendance and scores in surprise tests, monthly tests and quarterly examinations.
  • If the student’s performance is found unsatisfactory i.e. attendance below 90% and scores below 50% in all evaluation tests and examinations, it will restrict the student from getting enrolled for BIEK examinations, Enrolment form will only be forwarded from Dr Ziauddin Intermediate College if both above mentioned conditions are met by the student. The above stated conditions will be evaluated in the third week of September for current Academic year.
  • Monthly tuition fee (cash/ pay order) can be submitted in administration office from 10:35 am -11:05 am during 1st – 10th of each month. A fine of PKR 50 will be charged for each day after 10th of month.
  • Student is restricted to take tuitions in the evening.
  • Any scheduled extra class is mandatory for the student notified.
  • Leave notices, meeting notices or any concerned notice will be conveyed through SMS to mobile contacts of guardians. Same will be displayed on college notice board.
  • Results of surprise, monthly tests and quarterly examination will be issued as hard copy by hand through students and soft copy on the provided email IDs.
  • Parent Teacher meeting is mandatory for parent/guardian of student to attend as this is the strong tool to improve and upgrade academics.

Code of Conduct for Students

  • Students will be allowed to visit tuck shop only during scheduled college breaks. Roaming around in the college premises and bunking of scheduled classes is prohibited. If found bunking 10 marks will be deducted from grand total of secured marks in examinations, disciplinary action would be taken and parents would be notified.
  • Students are not allowed to leave college premises before the end of last scheduled class and in exceptions need a gate pass to leave the college premises from competent authority.
  • Visitors are not allowed to see the students during college hours and in the college premises.
  • 90% attendance in college and each subject are mandatory to be eligible to appear for final intermediate board examinations. Failing to comply this will result in containing student in the existing level.
  • Any abuse physical or verbal with any of the faculty member of Dr. Ziauddin Intermediate College and Hospital will result in termination of students from college without any warning.
  • Loud conversation, Political and religious discussions, chewing pan, Gutka, Smoking, playing and unnecessary interaction among students is not allowed in college premises.
  • Dr Ziauddin Intermediate College practices zero tolerance policy against Indiscipline and non following of “Code of Conduct”. Non compliance will result in expulsion of candidate from college.

Code of Conduct for Students

  • Academic performance of student is monitored through attendance and scores in surprise tests, monthly tests and quarterly examinations.
  • Two hard copies of results of surprise and monthly/Hourly tests will be handed over to student.
  • One copy will be retained with parent/guardian and the second copy will be submitted to college office on next working day, failing which will cost a fine of PKR100/day.
  • Results of Quarterly and Mock Examination will be handed over to the parent/guardian in plannedParent Teacher Meeting.
  • If the students performance is found unsatisfactory i.e. attendance below 85% and scores below 50% it will restrict the student from appearing in BIEK Examinations.
  • Examinations form will only forwarded from Dr Ziauddin Intermediate College if both above mentioned conditions are met by the student.
  • The above stated conditions will be evaluated in the third week of September for current Academic year.
  • However in exceptional cases student may be considered to
    • * Attend Remedial Tutorial Sessions.
    • * Attempt Scheduled Examinations and make up the deficiency to become eligible for Boardof Intermediate and Secondary Examinations.
  • Any scheduled extra class is mandatory for the student notified.
  • Student is restricted to take tuitions in the evening.
  • Parent Teacher meeting is mandatory for parent/guardian of student to attend as this is the strongest tool to improve and upgrade academics
